Becoming Trustable Co-Creators of a World That Works
The Beyond Awakening dialog this past Sunday, June 3rd was something special. Not only was it was the 60th in this ground-breaking series, but also, I was the featured “guest” for a change! My dear friend and pioneering evolutionary Craig Hamilton joined me and turned the tables, serving as my guest host.
We took an exceptionally rich journey into the heart of my work and my lifelong contemplation of
how we can become the trustable co-creators of world that works.
I discussed how my public inquiry has evolved since its inception and how that’s informed my own understanding of evolution, spirituality, activism and the future of humanity.
And I got a chance to describe how my own teaching expresses that understanding, and how that’s expressed in community surrounding my course in integral spiritual practice, which is starting again June 14. I invite you to find out more about this offering here.
I also talked about how I have shifted personally in response to insights gleaned from dialogs with guests like Adyashanti, Gangaji, Rick Hanson, Byron Katie, Ken Wilber, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Charles Eisenstein, Candice O’Denver, Andrew Harvey, and Jean Houston.
We covered the amazing breadth of what’s rich and alive today in the leading edge of awakening and evolution. You can listen here.

Terry Patten
I enjoyed listening to Terry’s seminar on the three spiritual myths. He stresses the importance of daily practice. I agree that this is important and that Terry could be a good guide in this. Terry also mentioned in passing living the transformational life style.
I think that the reason why we take workshops, change, and then degress is because we get pulled down by the center of gravity of the culture we live in. It would be really cool to be able to live in a culture that lifts us up instead.
As I was listening to Terry Patten’s June 3rd talk for a second time and he mentioned his integral spiritual practice course I was reminded that in some traditions the primary spiritual practice is to surrender to a worthwhile spiritual teacher and spend time in his physical presence. I believe that Mahamandaleshwar Swami Nityananda is such a teacher. He was trained in the tradition that Adi Da, Terry’s primary teacher, came out of and which can be a very powerful tradition; but I do not think that he would hurt others as Adi Da might have. I would love to see Terry and Ken Wilber share a talk with this teacher. They could use my name as a reference if that might help arrange a talk. If that is not possible this is a very nice talk here (English begins after about one minute); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yqFWBb9utU&feature=share
In case anyone might be interested Swami Nityananda will be in California, USA in the early half of August, 2012; http://www.shantimandir.com/assets/files/For%20SM%20Website_allinfo4website.pdf If you stop by please let us know how it was.
