I’ve often been asked, “After all these public conversations with all these amazing people,what have you discovered, Terry? You’ve spoken with enlightened teachers and philosophers and activists and scientists and neuropsychologists. The dialogs have been incredibly diverse. Does it all add up?
“What insights have you gained into this question you keep asking: ‘How can higher consciousness help human beings rise to meet the unprecedented challenges of our time?’ Any gems of wisdom?”
Well, this Sunday, June 3rd, I’ll have a chance to respond to those questions, and in some depth!
Integral Enlightenment founder, Craig Hamilton, will be appearing on this special Beyond Awakening as a guest. But in a twist, Craig will be the interviewer rather the interviewee (which he has been and may be again.)
I am touched and honored to be interviewed by Craig who is a skilled interviewer, as well as my dear friend and a dynamic pioneer in the emerging field of evolutionary spirituality. I trust he will brilliantly facilitate a deep exploration of my emerging insights.
Some of the themes I will explore with Craig include:
* Nondual civic responsibility
* The emergence of an integral evolutionary worldview
* Reverse engineering the human body-mind
* The emergence of a new revolutionary transpersonal synthesis
* The koans of our time, including: The practice of activism or “being the change” and “doing the change”; And keeping our hearts open when it hurts most
* The birth of the meta-sangha, a term I coined at the beginning of this series
* What does it take to practice this right now?
We are blessed and challenged to be a part of a shared cultural contemplation and deep questioning that is going on all over the world—the kind of questioning that is epitomized in the Beyond Awakening series.

About Terry Patten
Terry Patten is a leading voice in the emerging fields of Integral spirituality and leadership. He worked with Ken Wilber and a core team at Integral Institute to develop Integral Life Practice, which distills ancient and modern practices into an intelligent contemporary transformational lifestyle. We have the vision of a meta-ritual that leads eidetic to integral worldview. It is “The Key M-Rite” we can all share for “doing the change”.
It will contain the “i-Cloud-temple on Internet” for the meta-sangha available to every human being.
The chain around the Globe of local Feasts “The Shift of Seeds Mandala” set up the communion of Noah-Food among believers of all World-Faiths.
The wordless “Key” will become the start-module before each practice like ILP, ISP or each other.

I enjoyed this talk. I like the distinction between being one who practices and one who seeks. I like the ideas of a meta sangha and of sacred service. I still like Terry’s post on Occupy Integral. I will repost a comment on this below;
This writer is still delighted that Terry Patten wrote a very inspirational post some time back about the possibility of our integral community coming together to express care and compassion by taking beautiful action out in the world; http://integrallife.com/integral-post/occupyintegral . I am also uplifted at how warmly his post was accepted by our community. I never recall any post receiving so many yes votes.
I believe that the time is quickly approaching to realize our good intentions by actually doing something good and beautiful out in the world. I recently learned that the numerous national Occupy tribes will be gathering together in Philadelphia, PA USA from June 30 to July 4th, 2012. I would like to invite all integrally informed brothers and sisters of good will to attend. http://www.occupynationalgathering.com/
Robb Smith, who I believe has much to teach us, tells us that we would do well to serve “the highest leverage projects that alleviate suffering and where integration is a critical success factor”. I believe that this national gathering is such an opportunity. The organizers are confident that they will be able to assure occupiers with a safe place to camp and good food to eat. To be on the safe side they recommend we bring $10.00 a day for food.
Would people who plan to attend and people who have helpful ideas on how integral can help with the occupy movement please share? And if he is reading along Terry is, of cource, also warmly invited.

If Terry and his students can not make the national Occupy gathering perhaps you could integrate some sacred service into your cources and workshops like at the upcoming Next Step Integral gathering?
