Saniel Bonder received an honorary scholarship upon entering Harvard in 1968 – but promptly had it revoked for helping occupy a building in a Viet Nam War protest. Soon afterward, he began two decades of spiritual quest, mostly with the 20^th century Heart-gurus Ramana Maharshi and Adi Da. (He did come away from Harvard with a B.A., in Social Relations.)

After leaving Adi Da’s work in 1992, to his surprise Saniel quickly underwent the radical shift he had sought. Since then he has helped hundreds of people awaken similarly and then clarify and express their distinctive gifts in service. The international Waking Down in Mutuality movement he founded now has over 30 awakened teachers. His books include Waking Down, Healing the Spirit/Matter Split, and an acclaimed new novel, Ultimaya 1.0.

Saniel and his wife Linda were founding members of Integral Institute and regularly teach at Integral Spiritual Experience. Always active in the Waking Down work, they teach around the world. They’re now co-founding Human Sun Institute to “awaken and empower leaders for the Third Millennium” and co-authoring The Human Sun: Radiant Gateways to Your Awakening, Wholeness, and Unique Purpose (forthcoming). They live outside Sonoma, California.
